Our Church Beliefs

BIBLE

We believe the Bible is God’s Holy inspired Word.  That God has preserved His Word in the KJV which was translated out of the Received Text in 1611.   We believe the original writings were without error and were completely inspired of God.  We believe holy men of God of old were inspired by God to record His Word for all generations.       II Timothy 3:16;  II Peter 1:21

THE TRINITY

We believe in a triune God-Head.  That God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit (or Ghost) are all three one God.  That God is expressed and exists in three persons.

I John 5:7; Genesis 1:2,26        a. Jesus is God. John 1:1,14-18       b. The Holy Spirit is God.  Acts 5:3,4

                                     c. The Father in Heaven is God.  Isaiah 44:24;45:5

THE CREATION

We believe God through His Son has created all of creation, the heavens and the earth and all life forms therein in six literal days.     Genesis 1:1-31;  Colossians 1:12-17

SALVATION

We believe in salvation by God’s grace, and God’s grace alone.  We believe that we can have our sins forgiven and can receive by faith the salvation of the soul as offered in the Bible. That salvation is found in believing in Jesus Christ to be one’s personal savior.   We do not believe that man can produce his own salvation by living a moral lifestyle, or the practicing religious

instruction. We believe repentance is a clear indication that a person understands the severity  of their sins, and in seeking God’s forgiveness of their sins turns away from their sins, placing their faith and trust in Jesus Christ for forgiveness of their sins.

     Ephesians 2:8,9;  I John 1:9;  Acts 4:12;  Titus 3:5;  Romans 3:20-22

ETERNAL SECURITY

We believe in the eternal security of the Believer.  That once a person has received by faith salvation in Jesus Christ, they are eternally saved without any possibility of losing their Salva-

tion.  We do believe that a Believer can fall into sin in disobeying God.   We believe that the Believer must seek to be restored in fellowship to the Lord. That confession of their sin or sins is very important.  That without seeking to be restored, God will begin to discipline that Believer to bring them back into fellowship once more.

     Rom. 8:35-39;  I Jn 2:1;  Galatians 6:1;  Heb.12:5-11

THE VIRGIN BIRTH

We believe Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, came into this world being born of a virgin (Mary), for the ultimate purpose of dying upon the cross for the sins of all mankind.  That man

is born with a fallen, sinful nature and will disobey God’s Word.    That sin is disobedience to God’s Commands, which will always result in the spiritual death of the sinner, who must there-

fore be born again to receive God’s forgiveness and eternal life. That Jesus Christ was not born with a fallen, sinful nature and never sinned in disobedience to God’s Commands, therefore he was able to die for the sins of mankind.  The sinless one dying for the sinner.

     Luke 1:26-37; Romans 5:8,12,18,19; I John 2:1,2; I Peter 1:19;2:21-24

THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit’s purpose is to convict mankind of their sins against God, to reveal to mankind his need to be born again, to help men understand that Jesus Christ is God’s means by which all men must be saved by, and to help the Believer understand God’s Word (the Bible).

     John 14:26; 15:26; 16:7-14; Titus 3:5

THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST

We believe in end time prophecy.  That at some point in the future (at God’s appointed time) Jesus Christ will physically return to the earth, as he physically came the first time.  That this return will be preceded by a series of events. First, ancient Israel as a nation will be restored back into her ancient homeland. Secondly, the world will become progressively immoral and turn away from God’s Word and Commandments.  Thirdly, all Believers will be translated to Heaven (also known as the Rapture). Fourthly, there will be a time of great tribulation (hard-ship) upon the earth that will last several years and under the leadership of one known as the anti-Christ. Fifthly, at the end of this great tribulation, Jesus Christ will literally return to earth   and set up his millennial kingdom, lasting one thousand years. That at the end of his millennial reign, there will be a great White Throne judgment which all peoples of the world who have not trusted in Christ as their will be judged.  Finally, that God will create a new Heaven and a new Earth wherein will dwell righteousness and true peace.

     Matthew 24;  Mark 13;  Luke 21;  II Thessalonians 2:1-12;  II Timothy 3:1-9;  Revelation 19,20,21;  Ezekiel 36,37

HEAVEN

We believe in a literal Heaven and a literal Hell.  Heaven is a place where those will ascend to who have trusted Jesus Christ as their personal savior.  God the Father’s throne is there.  There Jesus Christ is presently seated at the Father’s right hand. All the Believers throughout the ages are there.  It is a place of great beauty and glory. Hell is a place where those who have rejected Jesus Christ as their personal savior and have died in their sins will descend down into. It is a place of darkness, sorrow and pain.  It is presently located in the heart of the earth, but after the Great White throne judgment will be separated from the earth and placed in outer darkness, known as the lake of fire.

     Acts 1:9-11; 7:55,56;  Revelation 4:1-11;  Luke 16:19-31;  Rev. 20:10-15

THE LOCAL CHURCH

We believe in the local Church.  The word “Church” comes from a Greek word which means a called out assembly. Specifically, Believers in Christ called out to assemble themselves together for the purpose of God’s will in evangelism and discipleship.  One hundred and twelve times the word church or churches is used in the New testament.   All but a few times it refers to a local assembly of Believers.  In accordance to the Book of Acts and the writings of the Apostle Paul it was made up of individuals who had been born again and had followed the Lord in Believer’s baptism, which was by immersion.  Their purpose was to fulfill the Great Commission as given by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20. They practiced two Ordinances (or, decrees), 1. Baptism, the Leaders of the church would baptize their converts, and 2. The Lord’s Supper, also known as Communion.  They would observe the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of Jesus’ death and his Resurrection.  The local Church will continue in its operation until it’s translation (or, Rapture), removal from this present world.  The local church in the New Testament was Baptistic (which means, they adhered strictly to the teachings a Jesus and the Apostles)in their beliefs.  The entirety of this doctrinal statement describes what a Baptist Church is.             Matthew 28:18-20;  Acts 2:41,42;  I Corinthians 11:23-34
